Our Mission
Foxes are amazing animals, for many they can be pets or simply viscous predators, but if you take the time to learn more about them you wind they can be just as amazing as a dog or cat. We want to help people understand foxes a little better and learn more about them. We are creating a map which will be filled with locations of fox species all over the world. This map will help us and many other people understand fox diversity around the world as well as their ability to adapt to different climates. For example, Arctic Foxes are specifically adapted to the cold environments such as iceland, and Gray Foxes are adapted to hunting and climbing in trees. Red foxes are similar to those species but they are more widely spread around the Earth.
Our group also researches urban foxes so that we can understand how they impact us and how we impact them, we could also find ways to keep foxes from getting unnecessarily hurt by things we do. We also search for fox dens to observe the foxes at their home during the spring. This can help us better understand their social behavior and how the kits adapt to the world around them. Being able to observe these foxes where they live could help us learn more about them and educate more people about foxes.
This Project is to help people become aware of foxes. It is difficult to find information on fox locations and what species live where. There is not a map that specifically shows locations of fox species around the world, so that is why we did this. I was hoping that together with schools, friends and inspired learners we can make the first map of foxes around the world. This could lead to better a understanding of foxes and teach people what they really are.
